A suitable propeller to a given boat/engine combination will allow the engine to reach the top RPM recommended by the engine manufacturer. In the selection of a proper propeller, we must consider that every pitch variation of 1" corresponds to a variation of about 200~250 RPM in engine operation (i.e. The increase of 1" pitch decreases the engine speed about 200~250 RPM). The use of a wrong propeller size will result in overall performance reduction and engine damage.
